Verkerke was awarded a prize in the professional’s competition of the Studieclub Schilders (SCS, ‘Painter’s Study Group’) for the fifth consecutive year.
He won in the category free decorative techniques. The participating painters in the category C3 – free decorative techniques were tasked with creating a panel depicting the theme ‘Holland Maritime’. The professional jury named Verkerke the winner.
